Voter Registration Kit

Thank you for your interest in conducting a nonpartisan voter registration drive at your church. To assist you in this important effort, we are pleased to provide you with the attached materials.

Voter registration is important because if you’re not registered, you can’t vote. Persons needing to register include those who have never voted, have recently moved, have changed a name due to marriage, or have not voted in recent elections.

We recommend that you offer voter registration on at least two weekends, after which you can mail completed forms to the Indiana Election Division (be sure to add postage!). NOTE: Indiana voter registration closes on October 9, 2012.

Please note that you have full permission to download and freely copy all materials.

The Basics: 2012 Voter Registration Materials

1. Tips for Successful Voter Registration Campaigns

2. Indiana Voter Registration Form (copy as needed)

3.Legal Guidelines for Churches and Pastors

4.Sample Church Bulletin Announcement

5. Artwork for church bulletins (permission granted to edit as desired)

We also recommend that you produce a vinyl banner with the text “Voter Registration” to hang above the area where voter registration will occur in your church. This will help interested persons to find the voter registration table easily. Vinyl banners can be produced in a few days at most print shops and should cost less than $50 for a 2 foot x 6 foot banner.

A good supply of quality ballpoint pens is also recommended.
